Background information about 'Flawless Intrigue from Hell'
Montreal's SKUMSTRIKE are back with a vengeance. Their second full-length, "Flawless Intrigue from Hell", is a raw, unrelenting assault that takes no prisoners. This Canadian power-trio channels the wild fury of Japan's Sabbat, the reckless aggression of early Slayer, and the primal darkness of Bathory into ten tracks of pure, unfiltered mayhem.
Recorded by Spectral Wound mastermind Patrick McDowell right after SKUMSTRIKE's first European tour, this album captures a band at peak intensity. From breakneck speed metal blitzkriegs to slower, venom-drenched dirges, "Flawless Intrigue from Hell" is a masterclass in controlled chaos. The band's obsession with betrayal and deception runs through every riff, every scream, every blast beat. And to top it off, they deliver a maniacal cover of Abigail's "Satanik Metal Fucking Hell" – absolutely unhinged. The skeletal artwork by Chris Kiesling (Misanthropic-Art, known for Mortuary Drape, Hooded Menace, Grave Infestation) perfectly matches the record's sinister energy. This is SKUMSTRIKE's first dangerous encounter with the German powerhouse Dying Victims Productions, and it's a match made in hell. How much ARRRGGGHHH can you take? Crank it up and find out.
For fans of: Sabbat (Japan), Slayer, Bathory, Abigail, Mortuary Drape
