Background information about 'No More Color'

There are records that simply refuse to age, and "No More Color" is one of them. When Coroner dropped their third album in 1989, the Swiss trio had already spent two records sharpening a sound that sat somewhere between razor-edged technical thrash and something far stranger, more atmospheric. But this is where it all clicked into place. The band traveled to West-Berlin for a third consecutive time, this time with Pete Hinton behind the desk, and the results are nothing short of electrifying.

What makes this record so special is the shift in approach. Tommy Vetterli himself has said it best: through all the touring, the band learned that between the fast, complex sections you need to play something simpler, something groovier. So "No More Color" breathes where previous efforts only attacked. Tracks like "Mistress Of Deception" still contain passages that would break lesser guitarists' fingers, but now they're anchored by a mood, a feeling, that pulls you in rather than just bludgeoning you. And then there's "Die By My Hand", a much straighter number chosen as the single, paired with "Tunnel Of Pain" on a clear vinyl promo 12". The mix, handled by Scott Burns at the legendary Morrisound Studios in Tampa, gives the whole thing a weight and clarity that still sounds phenomenal today.

This remastered and restored edition, handled by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony in February 2026 and cut by SST Germany on Neumann machines, is the definitive audiophile pressing of an eternal classic. If you've only ever heard this album through compressed streams, you haven't really heard it at all.
