Background information about 'Dreams & Limitations'
When Northern English melancholia meets Portuguese Fado at the crossroads of existential beauty, Sleeping Pulse delivers something truly extraordinary with "Dreams & Limitations". This sophomore effort from the duo of Antimatter's Mick Moss and Portuguese guitarist Luís Fazendeiro doesn't just follow up their 2014 debut – it transcends it completely. What strikes you immediately is how these nine compositions breathe with genuine emotional weight, each note carrying the kind of authentic pain and hope that most bands spend entire careers trying to capture.
The album's sonic foundation rests on doomy progressive rock that occasionally ventures into post-rock territory, but never loses sight of its core mission: making existential anguish audible without wallowing in self-pity. Tracks like "Rise" and "The Butterfly Collector" showcase the band's ability to embrace darkness while finding light within it. The closing "When I Am Young Again" serves as both lament and celebration, proving that Sleeping Pulse has mastered the art of cathartic songwriting. This isn't party rock – it's music for those moments when life demands something deeper.
