Background information about 'Archangel'

Soulfly delivers another crushing blow to the metal scene with "Archangel", their tenth studio album that showcases Max Cavalera's relentless vision in full force. This release finds the band exploring darker territories while maintaining their signature tribal-infused thrash metal sound that has made them legends in the genre. The album kicks off with the anthemic "We Sold Our Souls To Metal", immediately setting the tone for what's to come - a collection of tracks that blend spiritual themes with crushing riffs and Max's distinctive growls. Songs like the title track "Archangel" and "Sodomites" demonstrate the band's ability to craft memorable hooks while never compromising their heavy edge.

The album's second half continues this momentum with standout tracks like "Bethlehem's Blood" and "Titans", showcasing Soulfly's evolution while staying true to their roots. The inclusion of three bonus tracks, including a cover of Napalm Death's "You Suffer" and the epic "Soulfly X", adds extra value for longtime fans. The accompanying DVD featuring live performances of classics like "Roots Bloody Roots" and "Refuse/Resist" captures the band's explosive stage presence perfectly. This release proves that Soulfly remains as relevant and powerful as ever, delivering music that speaks to both the soul and the pit.
