Background information about 'War Machine'
Eight years after founder Algy Ward's departure, Tank roared back to life with "War Machine" in 2010, proving that British heavy metal legends never truly die. With ex-Rainbow powerhouse Doogie White stepping behind the microphone and the core duo of guitarists Mick Tucker and Cliff Evans still wielding their axes, this album marked a bold new chapter while honoring three decades of metallic mayhem.
"War Machine" showcases a more polished, classic rock-influenced approach compared to Tank's raw street metal origins, but the fire still burns bright. Tracks like "Judgement Day" and "Phoenix Rising" deliver crushing riffs and soaring vocals that remind you why Tank earned their stripes alongside the NWOBHM elite. This High Roller Records reissue comes loaded with three killer bonus tracks including the Saxon-influenced "Dead Man Walking" and a thunderous live version of "Phoenix Rising" captured in Poland. Patrick W. Engel's masterful remastering from the original unmastered mixes brings new life to every crushing chord and pounding rhythm.
