Background information about 'Hate'

When Sarcófago unleashed "Hate" upon the world in 1994, they weren't just releasing another album - they were making one of their most uncompromising statements yet. After dabbling with more mainstream metal territory on "The Laws of Scourge", the Brazilian legends realized their true calling lay in the darkest corners of extreme music. This third LP represents the band at their most savage and unforgiving, diving headfirst into themes of suicide, murder, and psychological descent with zero apologies. The album's controversial nature only added to its cult status among fans who craved something genuinely disturbing.

What makes "Hate" particularly fascinating is Wagner "Antichrist" Lamounier's guitar work, which churns out some of his most evil and memorable riffs throughout the record. The band made the bold decision to forgo a human drummer entirely, instead programming all percussion to achieve inhumanly fast speeds that perfectly complement the album's mechanized brutality. This approach would become a signature element for their later releases including "The Worst" and "Crust". The result is an agnostic assault that punishes listeners from start to finish, cementing Sarcófago's reputation as one of metal's most radical forces.
