The 3rd And The Mortal's self-titled demo from 1993 captures the raw essence of a band that would go on to influence countless artists in the atmospheric and experimental metal scenes. Recorded at Trøndertun in Trondheim - the same studio where Thorns' legendary first demo was created - these four tracks showcase the band's unique approach to blending doom metal's crushing weight with ethereal female vocals and progressive elements. The production may be rawer than their later works, but the timeless songwriting and Kari Rueslåtten's enchanting soprano vocals create an atmosphere of melancholic otherworldliness that still gives you chills today.

What makes this demo so special is how it established the blueprint for what would become a globally embraced formula.
