Background information about 'Saga'
The Flight Of Sleipnir delivers an absolutely crushing opus with "Saga", a monumental journey through the darkest corridors of stoner doom that will leave you breathless and begging for more. This Colorado-based duo has crafted something truly special here – twelve tracks of pure atmospheric devastation that weave Norse mythology into a tapestry of crushing riffs and ethereal melodies. From the haunting "Prologue" that sets the stage for this epic tale, through the bone-crushing weight of "Heavy Rest The Chains Of The Damned", every moment feels deliberate and powerful.
The album builds like a gathering storm, with tracks like "The Mountain" showcasing the band's ability to balance crushing heaviness with moments of sublime beauty. The nearly nine-minute centerpiece "Hour Of Cessation" is nothing short of magnificent – a sprawling doom masterpiece that demonstrates why this band has become such a force in the underground scene. The production captures every nuance of their sound, from the thunderous low-end to the soaring guitar harmonies that pierce through the darkness like rays of light through storm clouds.
