Background information about 'Superheat (Re-Release)'
There are records that grab you by the throat from the first note, and then there are those that slowly wrap their coils around you until you're completely trapped. Superheat's "The Gathering" belongs firmly in the latter category — and it's all the more devastating for it.
This Finnish heavy metal outfit doesn't just play riffs; they forge them from molten steel and let them cool into razor-sharp hooks. The album moves with a deliberate, almost hypnotic swagger, blending the classic NWOBHM gallop with a darker, more atmospheric edge that feels both timeless and urgent. Tracks like the opener hit with a punch that's pure adrenaline, while deeper cuts reveal a band unafraid to stretch out, letting tension build before unleashing a chorus that'll rattle your ribcage. The production is raw enough to keep its teeth but polished enough to let every dual-guitar harmony shine through. This is headbanging music for people who think while they thrash.
