"Harmr," the third album by THURNIN, emerges from a profound sense of sorrow that only love can evoke. The title, an Old Norse word translating to 'sorrow,' encapsulates the emotional weight of losing loved ones. This poignant theme is woven throughout the album's predominantly minor tones and slower tempos, contrasting the preceding album "Útiseta" (2023), where THURNIN mastermind Jurre Timmer explored Icelandic traditions as a path to commune with nature. In "Harmr," while the dreamscape veers towards darker, melancholic realms, glimpses of hope, cherished memories, and beauty persist. Timmer first crafted this musical landscape on his debut "Menhir" (2021), which soared to YouTube fame. As winter wanes and spring graces the northern hemisphere with light and warmth, THURNIN's "Harmr" opens a portal to their dreamworld, offering solace through its gentle musical visions.
