Trelldom returns with their most audacious statement yet. "…by the Word…" picks up where the previous full-length "…by the shadows…" left off, but takes everything several steps further into uncharted sonic territories. Mastermind Kristian Eivind Espedal (Gaahl) has crafted something that transcends traditional black metal boundaries while maintaining all the darkness and ferocity that makes the genre so compelling. The album showcases an exponential growth in confidence, with each track revealing new layers of complexity that demand repeated listening.

What strikes you immediately is how Trelldom has evolved beyond the narrowest definitions of black metal without losing their artistic soul. Working again with legendary producer Eirik Hundvin (Pytten) at the famous Grieghallen Studios in Bergen, Espedal has expanded his vocal range into previously unexplored territories. The result is a collection of seven tracks that blend avant-garde dissonance with wicked rhythm patterns and wild compositional ideas.
