Norwegian experimental collective Ulver returns with "Sic Transit Gloria Mundi EP", a haunting three-track offering that showcases the band's continued evolution into atmospheric territories. The EP serves as what the band describes as "the sad remains from our Caesarean banquet" - two compositions that were initially left unfinished but later revisited during summer sessions. The opening track "Echo Chamber (Room Of Tears)" demonstrates Ulver's mastery of creating immersive soundscapes, while "Bring Out Your Dead" continues their exploration of dark, cinematic textures.

The EP's most intriguing element is their cover of "The Power Of Love", a childhood favorite that the band actually began working on twelve to thirteen years ago during their initial foray into more accessible "pop" territories. Recorded in their new Oslo studio and mastered by Youth (Martin Glover and Michael Rendall) in London, the EP maintains the imperial sound quality that fans have come to expect. The striking cover art features Francis Bacon's Study After Velásquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X from 1953, perfectly complementing the EP's melancholic atmosphere.
