Originally unleashed in 1988, this underground classic showcases the raw power and technical prowess that should have put these guys right alongside the Big Four. The Spillberg brothers Rich and Barry, along with Bob Mayo, crafted something truly special here - a record that's both ferociously aggressive and surprisingly sophisticated in its approach to thrash metal songwriting.
From the moment the neck-snapping opener "Wasteland" kicks in, you know you're in for something intense. The razor-sharp riffing cuts through everything while the frenetic solos add layers of complexity that keep you coming back for more. Tracks like "Revenge" deliver that molten assault of pure thrash fury, while the epic nine-minute title track "Wargasm" proves these guys weren't afraid to stretch out and explore different dynamics. Ted Tringo's remastering work (known for his work with Mysto Dysto, Absu, and Nuclear Death) brings out every detail of this vitriolic energy without losing any of the original's raw power.
