Background information about 'Haunting The Chapel'
"Haunting The Chapel" is a seminal EP from the thrash metal titans Slayer. Released originally in 1984, this reissued version offers a remastered experience that intensifies the raw ferocity and blistering energy that Slayer is revered for. Opening with "Chemical Warfare", the track sets a relentless pace with its aggressive riffs and Tom Araya's signature growling vocals. The EP serves as a bridge between their debut album "Show No Mercy" and the groundbreaking "Hell Awaits", showcasing the band's evolution in sound and lyrical themes.
The atmosphere of "Haunting The Chapel" is dark and sinister, driven by Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King's dual guitar assault. Tracks like "Captor of Sin" and the title track encapsulate the band's mastery in combining speed with complex musical arrangements. This release is a must-have for any metal enthusiast or vinyl collector seeking to experience Slayer's early influence on the genre in a newly vibrant format.
