Background information about 'Written in Blood'
Written In Blood delivers a crushing debut that merges ancient folklore with modern melodic death metal brutality. This self-titled offering weaves together Germanic mythology and pagan themes through nine tracks of relentless aggression, creating an atmospheric journey that feels both primal and sophisticated. Songs like "Wilde Jacht" and "Witte Wieven" showcase the band's ability to blend traditional European folklore with crushing riffs and soaring melodies, while tracks such as "Slithering Snakes" and "Thrown Into The Bog" demonstrate their mastery of dynamic songwriting.
The production strikes that perfect balance between clarity and rawness, allowing every instrument to breathe while maintaining the organic feel that makes melodic death metal so compelling. Written In Blood proves they understand that true power comes from the marriage of melody and brutality, crafting songs that are equally at home in ancient forests and modern mosh pits. The album's conceptual coherence around Germanic paganism gives it a narrative weight that elevates it beyond mere technical prowess into something genuinely immersive and memorable.
