Background information about 'Mirror To The Sky'
Yes returns with their most ambitious statement in years, delivering "Mirror To The Sky" as a testament to their enduring creative fire. This double album showcases the legendary prog masters at their most expansive, weaving together the intricate musicianship and soaring melodies that have defined their five-decade career. From the opening cosmic journey of "Cut from the Stars" to the epic 13-minute centerpiece title track, every moment radiates with the band's signature blend of virtuosic playing and transcendent songwriting.
The album finds Steve Howe's guitar work reaching new heights of complexity and beauty, while Jon Davison's vocals soar with both power and delicacy across these nine carefully crafted compositions. Billy Sherwood and Geoff Downes provide the rhythmic and harmonic foundation that allows these songs to breathe and evolve naturally. Tracks like "All Connected" and "Luminosity" demonstrate how Yes continues to push boundaries while honoring their progressive rock heritage, creating music that feels both timeless and urgently contemporary.
