Background information about 'Phylogenesis'
Abysmal Dawn returns with their fifth studio endeavor, "Phylogenesis," a masterful display of technical death metal prowess that delves into the complex interplay between evolution and human nature. The album opens with "Mundane Existence," setting the stage with relentless riffs and intricate drumming that capture the brutal essence of their sound. Charles Elliot's commanding vocals guide listeners through a labyrinthine journey of existential contemplation and societal critique.
The production on "Phylogenesis" is nothing short of exceptional. Mixed by Charles Elliot at Tastemaker Audio and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios, every track resonates with precision and clarity. From the ferocious "Soul-Sick Nation" to the contemplative "A Speck In The Fabric Of Eternity," each composition showcases Abysmal Dawn's ability to balance aggression with melody. With contributions from notable artists such as Fredrick Folkare on guitar solos, this album stands as a testament to the band's enduring influence in the realm of technical death metal.
