Background information about 'SEASON OF BLOODSHED'
Aether Realm return with "Season of Bloodshed", and let me tell you, this one hits different. The melodic death metal outfit from North Carolina has been through the wringer since their 2020 record "Redneck Vikings From Hell" — a global pandemic, the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Helene, and a lineup shakeup that saw guitarist Donny Burbage depart while Chris Jones stepped in. All of that weight pours straight into these songs. This is a band channeling change, rage, and the kind of perspective that only comes from having the ground pulled out from under you.
What makes "Season of Bloodshed" so compelling is how it refuses to sit still. The trademark Aether Realm complexity and technically demanding guitar work are still very much present, but there's a harder, darker edge cutting through everything now. The melodies feel sharper, the riffs hit with more conviction, and the songwriting branches out into fresh territory without ever losing sight of what made this band special in the first place. It's the sound of a group that got knocked around and came back stronger, more focused, and hungrier than ever. Released via Napalm Records, this marks a genuine new chapter — and honestly, it's exactly the kind of record you want spinning when you need something that matches your own fire.
