When Swedish death metal veterans Demonical unleashed "Hellsworn" back in 2021, they proved once again why they've remained such a crushing force in the extreme metal underground since their formation. This reissue on Agonia Records captures the band at their most ferocious, delivering nine tracks of pure old-school death metal brutality that feels like it was forged in the depths of hell itself. The album opens with the blazing "Baptized In Fire" and doesn't let up until the epic title track "Hellsworn" closes out the main album with over five minutes of devastating heaviness.

What makes this release particularly special are the bonus tracks that showcase Demonical's versatility and respect for their influences. Their cover of Discharge's "The Nightmare Continues" is a perfect homage to punk's influence on extreme metal, while "Gods Of The North" adds another layer of Nordic darkness to an already impressive collection. Sverker Widgren's vocals are absolutely crushing throughout, supported by the tight rhythm section of Martin Schulman on bass and Ronnie Bergerståhl behind the kit, while Johan Jansson's guitar work creates the perfect soundtrack for apocalyptic warfare.
