This seventh full-length from the German death metal veterans serves as a brutal mirror held up to our world's current state - each of the ten tracks representing a chapter in mankind's ongoing failures. From delusion and greed to destruction and war, the band doesn't pull any punches in their unflinching examination of our collective sins. The album continues the thematic journey that began with 2020's "Descent" and carried through 2023's "Interment of Sins", creating a trilogy of despair that feels more relevant than ever.

Musically, "Abysmal Void" finds New World Depression deepening their old school death metal roots while adding layers of groove, atmosphere, and compositional depth that elevate their sound to new heights. The production by Jörg Uken at the renowned Soundlodge Studio gives these ten tracks the perfect balance of clarity and crushing weight. Tracks like "Spoils of War" and "Marching on Our Graves" showcase the band's ability to blend punishing riffs with memorable hooks, while maintaining the unrelenting intensity that has defined their sound since their 2005 formation in Germany's historic Münsterland region.
