With "Borderland" Amorphis ventures into uncharted territory both sonically and creatively. After three stellar albums under Jens Bogren's guidance, the Finnish prog-metal pioneers made the bold decision to collaborate with Danish producer Jacob Hansen — a choice that reflects their unwavering commitment to artistic evolution. Hansen's diverse portfolio and reputation as a calm, idea-driven producer made him the perfect candidate to handle six strong personalities while preserving Amorphis' distinctive sound.

The album's themes, once again crafted by lyricist Pekka Kainulainen, delve deep into humanity's ancestral wisdom, exploring how our forebears faced death and destruction with remarkable resilience. Complemented by Marald Van Haasteren's evocative artwork, "Borderland" emerges as a testament to a band that refuses to rest on their laurels.
