Background information about 'Dawn Of Glory (Re-Issue 2023)'
Swedish death metal veterans Afflicted return with this essential reissue of their 1994 masterpiece "Dawn Of Glory". Originally released during the golden era of Scandinavian extreme metal, this album showcases the band's brutal yet melodic approach to death metal that helped define the Swedish sound. The record captures Afflicted at their creative peak, delivering crushing riffs, thunderous drumming, and guttural vocals that cut through the mix with surgical precision. Tracks like "The Oracle" and "Raging Into Battle" demonstrate the band's ability to balance technical proficiency with raw aggression, while maintaining the dark atmospheric elements that made Swedish death metal so distinctive.
This 2023 reissue includes bonus material that makes it a must-have for collectors and newcomers alike. The package features two rare promotional tracks from 1993 - "Raging Into Battle" and "Dragon Breath" - alongside a cover version of Metallica's "Leper Messiah" that showcases the band's influences while maintaining their own brutal identity. The remastered audio brings new life to these classic compositions, allowing modern listeners to experience the full power of Afflicted's sonic assault with enhanced clarity and depth.
