Background information about 'Frozen Aggressors'
Some bands mellow with age. Aggression did the exact opposite. "Frozen Aggressors" is the sound of a Canadian thrash institution refusing to behave, and honestly, that is precisely why we keep coming back. The riffs come at you like a snowplow with a grudge, the drums hammer away with zero interest in subtlety, and the vocals sit somewhere between a snarl and a war cry. It is loud, it is rude, and it is enormous fun.
What makes this record tick is the balance between old-school ferocity and a genuinely nasty sense of humour. Tracks like "Circus Of Deception" and "Holidays In Sodom" swing between breakneck riffing and mid-tempo stomp, while "C.H.U.D. Invasion" opens the whole thing like a door being kicked off its hinges. There is a theatrical streak running through the songwriting too, and the production keeps everything sharp without sanding off the edges. This is thrash the way it was meant to be played: fast, filthy and completely unapologetic.
