Airbourne have never been a band to do things by halves, but on their self-titled sixth studio album, the Australian wrecking crew have delivered the most concentrated dose of their signature mayhem yet. From the first buzzsaw riff to the last cannon-blast of the drums, this is rock'n'roll stripped to its absolute essence — loud, dangerous, and dripping with swagger.

Reuniting with producer Brian Howes and engineer Mike Fraser at Music Farm Studio outside Byron Bay, the band plugged into the very same Neve console that captured AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and The Angels back in the day. You can hear that lineage in every greasy chord and sweat-soaked chorus. Mixed by Zakk Cervini, the album hits with a modern ferocity while keeping the raw, livewire energy that has defined Airbourne since day one.

The songs run the full gamut of the Airbourne universe. "Alive After Death (Last Plane Out)" and "Send Me To Rock'N'Roll Heaven" are heartfelt tributes to fallen heroes — Lemmy, Bon Scott, John Bonham, Little Richard, and more — celebrating how their music keeps them immortal. Then there's the road-worn swagger of "Bogotá," the defiant middle-finger anthems "Last Man Standing" and "Hell's Got No Vacancy," and the unapologetically filthy "Sky High." The barnstorming opener "Gutsy" sets the tone perfectly: this is a band that refuses to slow down, soften up, or compromise one single decibel. It's all killer, absolutely no filler — the sound of a band at the peak of their powers, making the best record of their career and knowing it.
