Background information about 'House Of Doom'
Swedish doom metal legends Candlemass deliver another crushing chapter with "House Of Doom", an EP that showcases the band's continued mastery of their craft after decades of defining the genre. This four-track offering finds the band in absolutely devastating form, with each song demonstrating why they remain the undisputed kings of epic doom metal. The title track "House Of Doom" opens with that signature Candlemass grandeur - massive, cathedral-sized riffs that seem to shake the very foundations of reality, while "Flowers of Deception" weaves intricate melodies through crushing heaviness.
The remaining tracks "Fortuneteller" and "Dolls On A Wall" continue this journey through darkness and despair, featuring the band's trademark combination of theatrical vocals, monumental guitar work, and rhythms that move like ancient glaciers. Every note feels deliberate and weighty, carrying the accumulated wisdom of a band that helped create the template for epic doom metal. This EP serves as both a perfect entry point for newcomers and essential listening for longtime devotees who crave that authentic Candlemass experience.
