The high priests of sinister doom are back, and they mean business. "Evil Remains" is Castle's sixth full-length and their first for Hammerheart Records, arriving after a six-year break with the black magic fully recharged. This is a hook-laden heavy metal thrill-ride straight into Nosferatu nights - a juggernaut of riffery wrapped in a delirious mix of doom, psychedelic-tinged classic metal, and pure, unholy swagger.

Elizabeth Blackwell's haunted, full-blooded vocals soar like electric witch hymns of death and madness, trading off against guitarist Mat Davis in that signature dual-vocal attack Castle have made their own. Together with drummer Mike Cotton's thunderous precision, they deliver a metallic knockout punch across eight pummeling tracks. Recorded at Raincity Recorders in Vancouver with producer Jesse Gander (Anciients, 3 Inches Of Blood, Brutus), the record sonically balances warm and fuzzy fuzz with the bombastic power of an alternate-universe stadium rock band. Written over five years - beginning in Joshua Tree, California, after a year-long tour for "Deal Thy Fate" - the material finally crystallized in pre-production sessions between the band's new twin bases of San Francisco and Vancouver.

Since storming out of San Francisco with their 2011 debut "In Witch Order", Castle has played close to 700 shows across three continents. This 2025 reissue arrives as a limited yellow vinyl pressing of 300 copies, and it's the perfect way to welcome these doom warlocks back into your collection. Scorching, serpentine riffs, haunted melodies, and that unmistakable Castle atmosphere - this one's an absolute must.
