There is a moment on "Dawn of a New Epoch" when the guitars stop circling and simply lunge, and you realise Cidesphere are not here to politely decorate a genre — they are here to drag it somewhere darker and far more interesting. The band builds their sound from the classic death metal toolkit, but they treat those tools like a blacksmith treats iron: heat, hammer, repeat, until something new and jagged comes out the other side. Riffs tumble over each other in tight, muscular formations, the low end rumbles like distant artillery, and the vocals sit somewhere between a growl and a sermon, spat out with real conviction rather than mere volume.

What lifts this record above the pile is the sense of architecture. Nothing here feels accidental. Tracks breathe, shift, and then slam back into gear with a precision that suggests long hours in a rehearsal room rather than studio trickery. There is melody buried in the chaos too — brief, cold, almost beautiful passages that surface for a few bars before the next wave of distortion wipes them away. It is heavy, yes, but it is also restless and curious, and that combination is what keeps you hitting repeat instead of filing it away as another competent genre exercise.
