Background information about 'None So Vile (Re-Release)'
On their sophomore release, CRYPTOPSY solidified their position as leaders of the death metal genre with "None So Vile". The album is a masterclass in brutality and technical prowess, featuring relentless blast beats and chaotic riffing intertwined with moments of unexpected melody. From the haunting piano introduction of "Phobophile," which sets a chilling tone before descending into madness, to the visceral punch of "Slit Your Guts," the record pushes boundaries both sonically and thematically.
The production on "None So Vile" is raw yet meticulously crafted, capturing every nuance of CRYPTOPSY's ferocious performance. Lord Worm's guttural vocals are delivered with conviction, painting vivid imagery that perfectly complements the instrumental chaos. With this release, guitarist Jon Levasseur takes on a greater role in songwriting, demonstrating his ability to merge complex structures with sheer intensity. Drummer Flo Mounier's precision and speed drive each track forward with an unforgiving energy that leaves listeners breathless.
