Background information about 'The Raging River (Re-Release)'
Cult of Luna returns with a stunning re-release of "The Raging River", showcasing the Swedish post-metal masters at their most emotionally devastating. This collection features five tracks that demonstrate the band's ability to craft atmospheric soundscapes that build from whispered introspection to crushing emotional peaks. The standout collaboration "Inside Of A Dream" featuring the late Mark Lanegan adds a haunting vocal dimension that perfectly complements the band's signature wall of sound approach.
The album flows like its namesake - starting with the epic "Three Bridges" which sets the tone for nearly nine minutes of gradual intensity building, followed by the more concise yet equally powerful "What I Leave Behind". The centerpiece Lanegan collaboration provides a moment of stark beauty before diving into the sprawling emotional journey of "I Remember" and concluding with the massive twelve-minute opus "Wave After Wave" that showcases everything that makes Cult of Luna essential listening for heavy music enthusiasts.
