Background information about 'Écailles De Lune'

Alcest's "Écailles De Lune" is a mesmerizing journey through ethereal soundscapes and intense blackgaze elements, transporting the listener to otherworldly realms. Released in May 2010, this album showcases Neige's deft ability to blend dreamy melodies with harsh sonic textures, creating a hauntingly beautiful tapestry of sound that transcends traditional genre boundaries. From the opening notes of "Écailles De Lune - Part 1," listeners are enveloped in a lush wave of shimmering guitars and delicate vocals that evoke a sense of melancholy and introspection.

The album continues to explore themes of nature and existential reflection, with tracks like "Percées De Lumière" offering moments of luminous clarity amidst the darker undertones. The instrumental interlude "Abysses" provides a brief yet poignant pause before leading into the uplifting "Solar Song." Closing with the expansive "Sur L'Océan Couleur De Fer," Alcest delivers an evocative auditory experience that lingers long after the final note has faded.
