DARKTHRONE · Panzerfaust | 2CD

Double CD. 30th anniversary edition with newly restored audio master and additional disc with Fenriz commentary .

Background information about 'Panzerfaust'

Three decades later, "Panzerfaust" still stands as one of Darkthrone's most devastating black metal statements. This Celtic Frost-worshipping masterpiece emerged in 1995 when Fenriz and Nocturno Culto were channeling pure misanthropic fury into their most primal sonic assault yet. Recorded in Fenriz's legendary Necrohell studio, this fifth album showcased the duo at their most raw and uncompromising, with Nocturno Culto's throat-shredding vocals perfectly complementing the Frost-fueled riffing that would influence countless bands.

What makes "Panzerfaust" truly special is its perfect balance of primitive brutality and sophisticated songwriting. Tracks like "En Vind Av Sorg" and "The Hordes Of Nebulah" demonstrate the band's ability to craft epic, atmospheric passages while maintaining that signature Norwegian black metal aggression. The album features some of the most bone-chilling vocals in the genre's history, with lyrics penned by the infamous Varg Vikernes adding an extra layer of darkness. This 30th anniversary edition presents the album with a newly restored master, allowing every frost-bitten riff and blast beat to cut through with crystal clarity.
