Background information about 'World Domination'
Swedish death metal veterans Demonical deliver their most crushing statement yet with "World Domination", an album that lives up to its ambitious title through eight tracks of relentless brutality. The band's fifth full-length showcases their evolution from straightforward death metal into something more sinister and refined, while maintaining the raw aggression that made them underground favorites. Opening with "My Kingdom Done", the album immediately establishes its dark atmosphere with thunderous riffs and vocalist Sverker Widgren's commanding growls, setting the stage for what feels like a genuine manifesto of metallic supremacy.
The production on "World Domination" strikes that perfect balance between clarity and filth, allowing every crushing riff and blast beat to cut through while preserving the organic feel that makes death metal so visceral. Tracks like "Hellfire Rain" and "Aeons of Death" showcase the band's ability to craft memorable hooks within their wall of sound, while "We Stand as One" proves they can slow things down without losing any intensity. The album's eight-track structure feels perfectly paced, never overstaying its welcome but delivering enough punishment to leave listeners thoroughly satisfied.
