Background information about '6'

There are albums that feel like a warm blanket on a cold night, and then there are those that grab you by the collar and refuse to let go. Graveyard's "6" manages to be both at once. The Swedish rock juggernauts return with a record that feels like a séance – channeling the spirits of late 60s and 70s hard rock while sounding utterly alive and kicking in 2023.

From the haunting opener "Godnatt" to the sprawling closer "Rampant Fields", this album is a masterclass in tension and release. "Twice" hits with a groove so thick you could cut it with a knife, while "I Follow You" drifts into psychedelic waters with an almost hypnotic pull. Joakim Nilsson's voice – that unmistakable blend of honey and gravel – has never sounded more soulful, especially on the aching ballad "Sad Song", which might just be one of the finest moments in the band's entire catalog. The rhythm section of Truls Mörck and Oskar Bergenheim locks in like a vintage muscle car on an open highway, and Jonatan Larocca-Ramm's guitar work weaves between riffs that are both monstrous and melodic. "Bright Lights" is pure adrenaline, while "No Way Out" simmers with a dark, bluesy menace. This is Graveyard at their most confident, most cohesive, and most essential.
