Greek heavyweights VILLAGERS OF IOANNINA CITY are back with Venceremos, and this one hits hard. The band from Ioannina has always walked their own path, but this new record sharpens their identity into something heavier, more direct and more aggressive than anything they've done before. Blending heavy rock, progressive metal and those unmistakable folk textures, they've crafted their most ambitious and conceptually driven work to date.

Set in a dystopian future shaped by illusion, control and fear, Venceremos unfolds as a journey through exile, resistance and awakening. It's a story about rising against a broken world, rejecting gods and modern kings to reclaim freedom and meaning. The music follows that narrative perfectly - ritualistic rhythms, expansive arrangements and traditional instruments like bagpipes and zourna aren't just decoration, they're the beating heart of the band's sound. The first single "Ghosts in the Sky" kicks things off with driving grooves and a cinematic sense of movement, while the epic title track "Venceremos" sits at the album's core with dynamic shifts and a powerful build that captures both tension and release. "Requiem" closes the record with a seven-minute journey where progressive structures and folk elements fully unfold into a liberating heavy rock anthem.

Produced and recorded by Alex Karametis at Magnanimous X Studio in Greece, and mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen, Venceremos captures clarity and depth in equal measure. This is post-stoner and heavy prog rock at its finest, delivered by a band that refuses to follow trends.
