Background information about 'Tales of Terror'
"Tales of Terror" marks a crushing statement from Hallows Eve, delivering eight tracks of pure thrash metal fury that helped define the genre's early sound. The Atlanta-based quartet unleashes a relentless assault of razor-sharp riffs and thunderous rhythms, with standout tracks like "Plunging To Megadeath" and "Horrorshow" showcasing their ability to blend technical prowess with raw, unbridled aggression. The album's horror-themed lyrics perfectly complement the band's dark, menacing sound creating an atmosphere that's both terrifying and exhilarating.
From the opening salvo of "Plunging To Megadeath" to the epic closer "Hallows Eve (Including Routine)", this release demonstrates why Hallows Eve earned their place among thrash metal's most respected acts. The production captures every crushing detail while maintaining the raw energy that made 80s thrash so compelling. Tracks like "Metal Merchants" and "There Are No Rules" have become anthems for the underground metal scene, proving that Hallows Eve could craft memorable hooks without sacrificing their brutal edge.
