Background information about 'Obscure Verses for the Multiverse'

There are albums that feel like a door swinging open onto something vast and cold, and "Obscure Verses for the Multiverse" is exactly that kind of record. Inquisition built their sixth full-length around a cosmic dread that never lets up: those trademark rasping incantations riding over riffs that spiral outward like galaxies collapsing in slow motion. Every tremolo line feels hand-carved, every tempo shift lands with intent, and the production keeps just enough grit to remind you this is music made by two people in a room, not a machine. It is hypnotic, unsettling, and strangely beautiful all at once.

What makes this one stick is the sheer ambition of its architecture. Tracks stretch out, circle back, and build into something ritualistic, with the drums acting as a relentless pulse beneath layers of dissonant melody. There is a real sense of journey here, a feeling of being pulled through void and starlight without a map. The 2025 re-release gives the whole thing room to breathe again, and on transparent red double vinyl it looks every bit as otherworldly as it sounds. If you have ever wanted black metal that feels like staring into deep space, this is your record.
