Background information about 'Contemplation In Discordance Split'
Contemplation In Discordance is a split release that throws two very different shades of black metal against each other, and the friction is exactly what makes it burn so bright. Insanity Cult open the proceedings with three tracks of cold, misanthropic black metal that feels like it was carved from ice and spite. Denial Of All sets the tone with razor-sharp tremolo picking and vocals that sound like they're being dragged out of a frozen abyss. Only Reflections Remain slows things down just enough to let the atmosphere seep in, while Path Of Return closes their side with a desperate, forward-charging surge that never lets up.
Void Omnia take over on the flip side with a completely different approach. Their two tracks on Rotted Fruit and Oh Vacuous Ruin are more expansive, more dissonant, weaving in elements of post-black metal and dark atmosphere that give the whole record a second, deeper dimension. Where Insanity Cult strike fast and hard, Void Omnia build slowly, letting tension coil and unravel over longer passages that reward patient listening. The contrast between the two bands makes this split feel less like a compilation and more like a dialogue, two voices answering each other across the grooves.
