Background information about 'Integra'
ANOMALIE is a name that demands attention in the contemporary black metal underground, and "Integra" is the kind of record that cements reputations. From the very first moments of opener "Rebirth", it's clear this isn't just another blast-beat barrage — there's a suffocating atmosphere, a sense of dread and beauty woven into the very fabric of the music. The production is raw enough to keep its teeth sharp, yet clear enough to let every twisted riff and haunting melody cut through. Tracks like "Aurora" build on layers of icy tremolo picking and thunderous drumming, creating a soundscape that feels both vast and claustrophobic.
What sets "Integra" apart is its refusal to stay in one lane. The album shifts between blistering aggression and moments of eerie, almost meditative calm, with "Temples" showcasing a surprising sense of dynamics and restraint before "Deliverance" closes the journey on a monumental, cathartic note. This is black metal that thinks beyond the genre's boundaries — atmospheric, intelligent, and utterly captivating. A record that rewards repeated listens and reveals new depths each time.
