Background information about 'The Plague'

Iron Walrus delivers a crushing blow with "The Plague", an album that perfectly captures the raw intensity and suffocating atmosphere of modern sludge metal. From the opening track "Here Comes The Plague" to the devastating finale "Seal the Fate", this German outfit showcases their ability to blend crushing riffs with atmospheric passages that leave listeners gasping for air. The band's approach to sludge is both punishing and hypnotic, creating a sonic landscape that feels like being trapped in a collapsing industrial wasteland.

The album's ten tracks flow seamlessly between moments of brutal heaviness and eerie calm, with songs like "I Hate People" and "Medial Sin" demonstrating the band's knack for writing memorable hooks within their wall of distortion. Iron Walrus manages to maintain the genre's characteristic slow-burn intensity while injecting their own personality into each composition. The production perfectly complements their vision, allowing every crushing chord and thunderous drum hit to resonate with maximum impact.

For fans of: Crowbar, Eyehategod, Monolord and Electric Wizard
