Background information about 'Born With A Hammer'
"Born With A Hammer" is the kind of record that makes you want to raise a fist to the sky from the very first riff. Kai Hansen, the legendary guitarist and vocalist who shaped the sound of German power metal with Helloween and Gamma Ray, delivers a solo statement that feels anything but like a side project. This is pure, unadulterated heavy metal with a modern edge, and it hits like a sledgehammer right out of the gate.
The opener "Feeding The Beast" sets the tone with driving riffs and that unmistakable Hansen energy, while "Welcome To Life" and "Don't Care" showcase his knack for writing anthemic, sing-along choruses that stick with you for days. The title track "Born With A Hammer" is a near-eight-minute epic that builds and surges with the confidence of someone who has nothing left to prove and everything left to give. Tracks like "I.D.G.A.F" and "Triple Trouble" bring the attitude, while "Invaders" nods to the classic metal roots that Hansen helped pioneer. "Wonderland" closes the record with a touch of melody and reflection, showing the softer side of a metal icon who remains as vital today as he was in the eighties.
