Background information about 'One Cold Winter's Night'

There are live albums that capture a band at their peak, and then there is "One Cold Winter's Night" – a record that freezes a truly magical evening in time. Recorded in Oslo, Norway in February 2006, this live document finds Kamelot at the height of their creative powers, delivering a career-spanning set that leaves absolutely nothing to chance. The band tears through fan favorites from "The Black Halo" and "Epica" with surgical precision, while the symphonic grandeur that defines their studio work translates breathtakingly well to the stage.

What makes this recording so special is the sheer theatricality of the performance. Guest vocalists Mari Youngblood and Elisabeth Kjærnes add layers of drama and beauty, while Simone Simons of Epica lends her stunning voice to "The Haunting" – a moment that sends chills down the spine every single time. The keyboard and drum solos give the instrumentalists room to shine, and the epic "March of Mephisto" with Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir is pure operatic metal at its most theatrical. The bonus track "Epilogue" is a welcome treat for collectors. This is symphonic metal performed with heart, precision, and undeniable passion.
