Norwegian hard rock force Audrey Horne is back with their 8th studio album "Achilles", and man, does it hit the mark! After the critically acclaimed "Blackout" (2018) and "Devil's Bell" (2022), the five-piece from Bergen proves once again why they're one of Norway's most exciting rock exports. Having shared stages with the likes of AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach and Backyard Babies, and even snagged a Spellemannprisen (the Norwegian Grammy) for their 2005 debut, these guys know exactly how to deliver the goods.

The hard-hitting title track "Achilles" kicks things off with roaring guitars and a thunderous rhythm section, topped by Toschie's powerful vocals. The band flexes their progressive muscles here, creating strong contrasts between different parts that mirror the lyrics drawn from today's polarized world. "God Damn Beautiful" brings the groove with a Thin Lizzy-inspired swagger and bassist Espen Lien stepping up to lead vocals. The high-energy rock'n'roll of "Insanity" features a killer chorus, twin guitars and a storyline inspired by Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name". Closing track "New Star Falling" wraps it all up beautifully, showcasing the melodic side of the band's sound. With 11 multi-faceted tracks blending classic 70s and 80s influences with themes of escapism and the instability of our world, "Achilles" is a perfect fit for both rock radio and live stages.
