Background information about 'Achilles'

Norwegian hard rock force AUDREY HORNE is back with their 8th studio album, "Achilles", and let me tell you – these guys have absolutely outdone themselves. Following the critically acclaimed "Blackout" (2018) and "Devil's Bell" (2022), the five-piece delivers eleven tracks that swing between high-voltage heavy rock and beautifully crafted melodic passages. With vocalist Toschie front and center, guitarists Ice Dale (Enslaved) and Thomas Tofthagen weaving twin-guitar magic, bassist Espen Lien and drummer Kjetil Greve locking it all down, this is a band firing on all cylinders.

The title track "Achilles" kicks things off with roaring guitars and a rhythm section that hits like a freight train, all topped with vocals that grab you by the throat. The band flexes their progressive muscles here, building stark contrasts between sections that mirror the song's commentary on our polarized world. Then there's "God Damn Beautiful" – a groovy Thin Lizzy-flavored stomper that puts bassist Espen Lien on lead vocals, and it's a genuine highlight. "Insanity" channels classic Iron Maiden energy with its gripping storyline and anthemic chorus, while closer "New Star Falling" wraps the whole thing up with pure melodic beauty.

With "Achilles", AUDREY HORNE delivers an atmospheric heavy rock record that blends classic 70s and 80s influences with lyrics spanning everything from escapism to the instability of modern life. This is music made for both rock radio and sweaty live stages – a perfect fit for anyone who loves their rock with brains, brawn and a whole lot of heart.
