Background information about 'Scour Order'
Krallice have never been a band to rest on their laurels, and "Scour Order" proves once again why they remain one of the most vital forces in progressive black metal. The New York trio — known for their dizzying technical prowess and relentless evolution — deliver an album that feels both meticulously composed and wildly spontaneous. From the opening moments, you're thrown into a maelstrom of intricate riffing, shifting time signatures, and vocals that oscillate between guttural roars and desperate, soaring cries.
What makes "Scour Order" stand out in their already towering discography is how it balances their signature chaos with moments of genuine, almost unsettling beauty. There's a cold, mechanical precision to the guitar work that recalls the angularity of Gorguts and the atmospheric reach of Deathspell Omega, but Krallice inject their own DNA into every note — that unmistakable blend of technical death metal complexity and black metal atmosphere. The production is crisp without being sterile, allowing every blast beat and arpeggio to land with surgical force. This isn't background music; it demands your full attention, rewarding repeat listens with new layers of complexity each time.
