Background information about 'Katharsis'

Norwegian black metal titans Keep Of Kalessin return with their crushing seventh studio album "Katharsis", delivering eight tracks of uncompromising extreme metal fury. The album showcases the band's signature blend of melodic black metal with progressive elements, featuring blistering guitar work and thunderous drumming that has defined their sound since the late 90s. Tracks like "Hellride" and "War Of The Wyrm" demonstrate the band's ability to craft both atmospheric passages and brutal assault, while "The Omni" explores more experimental territory without losing the core aggression.

The production on "Katharsis" strikes the perfect balance between clarity and rawness, allowing each instrument to cut through the mix while maintaining that essential black metal atmosphere. Keep Of Kalessin has always been known for their technical proficiency and songwriting prowess, and this album continues that tradition with complex arrangements that never feel overly indulgent. The closing track "Throne Of Execration" serves as a fitting climax to an album that feels both familiar and refreshingly innovative within the black metal landscape.

For fans of: Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, and Mayhem
