Killer have been doing this longer than most of us have been alive, and on "The Grand Finale" they prove exactly why they're still one of Belgium's most cherished heavy metal institutions. This is the sound of a band who never once lost the fire, a trio that still plays loud, fast and completely honest, just like they did back in the early eighties when "Ready For Hell" and "Wall Of Sound" were rattling speakers across Europe.

What hits you first is the sheer punch. Paul "Shorty" Van Camp's guitar work is as explosive as ever, those flashing solos ripping through every track like a lightning storm, while the rhythm section of Jan Anthonis and Vanne keeps the whole thing barreling forward with the kind of raw, no-frills energy that defined the NWOBHM era. This is old school metal in the truest sense, songs with massive, singalong refrains that get stuck in your head after a single spin. Tracks like "Welcome in the Real World" are pure Killer, catchy and direct, while "Roll the Dice" and the title track channel the spirit of Motörhead with a ragged, beer-soaked swagger that feels like a love letter to Lemmy himself. And speaking of Lemmy, the duet with Lloyd "Lemmy" of Motorheadz on "Roll the Dice" is a moment that'll have you grinning from ear to ear, the guy genuinely sounds like the man himself.

The album closes with "What You See Is What You Get", the fastest cut here and a fitting final statement. Lloyd takes over lead vocals entirely, and the whole thing is a manifesto: no posers, no false metal, just honest, uncompromising rock 'n' roll played with total conviction. It's the perfect way to bow out. Killer may be calling this their grand finale, but this is no tired farewell, it's a band going out swinging, louder and prouder than ever.
