Background information about 'The Grand Finale'

Belgian heavy metal pioneers Killer bow out in style, and "The Grand Finale" is exactly what the title promises: one last, gloriously loud statement from a band that has been doing this since 1980. Formed by guitarist and singer Paul "Shorty" Van Camp and drummer "Fat" Leo, Killer rode the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal wave harder than almost anyone on the continent, and alongside Acid and Crossfire they became the pride of Belgian metal. Now, with Van Camp on guitars and vocals, Ian Anthony on bass and Vanne behind the kit, they deliver their swansong via High Roller Records.

The album is a love letter to Lemmy and Motörhead, and you can hear that devotion in every rattling riff and thundering bassline. Shorty himself calls it "a dedication to Lemmy of Motörhead, who is one of our all-time heroes," and tracks like "Roll The Dice" and the blistering "What You See Is What You Get" channel that same raw, no-bullshit energy. The latter even brings in Lloyd "Lemmy" of tribute act Motorheadz on lead vocals, and the resemblance to Mister Kilmister is uncanny. Shorty wrote every note and every word this time around, and it shows in the direct, honest songcraft. Catchy refrains, explosive guitar solos, and a whole lot of heart - this is true old school metal that never once pretends to be anything it isn't. A fitting, fist-in-the-air farewell.
