Background information about '...Symptoms II...'
Maladie delivers a crushing blow with "...Symptoms II...", an EP that showcases the band's mastery of progressive metal's darker territories. This four-track offering plunges listeners into a world of sonic brutality and technical prowess, where each composition serves as a chapter in a larger narrative of human suffering and resilience. The band's approach to songwriting combines intricate instrumental passages with crushing heaviness, creating an atmosphere that's both intellectually stimulating and emotionally devastating.
The EP's four tracks - "Vulnus - Drowning In Lethal Wounds", "Abicere - Bleeding Scars", "Discidium - The Return Of Nothingness", and "40 - Rev. 1979" - each explore different facets of the human condition through a progressive metal lens. Maladie's sound architecture builds upon complex rhythmic structures and atmospheric elements that create a sense of unease and contemplation. The production allows every instrument to breathe while maintaining the crushing weight that defines their sound, making this release a standout entry in the progressive metal underground.
