Some records refuse to close the door behind them. Mesh clearly felt that way about "The Truth Doesn't Matter" — a full-length that collected Album of the Month nods and sent Mark Hockings and Richard Silverthorn out on a first tour leg of packed rooms — and instead of filing it away, the duo went straight back into the writing room. What came out didn't feel like the opening of a new chapter. It felt like the missing pages of the last one. So "Fallen Angel" arrives as a mini-album: new songs, remixes and live cuts bundled together, an addendum rather than a fresh start, and all the better for it.

You can hear the momentum in the sequencing. The title track opens with that unmistakable Mesh shimmer — Hockings' voice riding a synth line that's equal parts melancholy and hook — before "Protect Your Neck" and "Not This Time" tighten the screws with the kind of taut, emotionally bruised electro-pop these two have been perfecting for decades. "The Meeting Of The Broken" slows the pulse and lets the atmosphere breathe, while "Tilt" and "Trying To Save You" push the hooks further forward. Then the record opens up: an extended pass at "Fallen Angel", a live take of "The Truth Doesn't Matter" captured in Cologne where you can practically feel the room, and Olaf Wollschlaeger's remix of "Trying To Save You" to send things out glowing. It's a companion piece in the truest sense — a deeper dive into the same world, with new corridors to wander.
