Background information about 'Total Mastery'

Total Mastery arrives like a boot to the throat, and Messticator clearly would not have it any other way. The Hamburg crew's sophomore record picks up right where Forthcoming Revelation left off, then floors the accelerator: faster, harder, meaner, and utterly uninterested in compromise. What makes it click is the songwriting underneath all that aggression. These are hooks you can hum while your neck gives out, riffs that land with the precision of a well-aimed hammer, and a rhythm section that refuses to let the tempo sag for even a second.

The band's great trick is that balancing act between death and thrash — the grit and growl of one, the frantic gallop of the other — and here they walk that line with real swagger. The lyrics lean into something darker and more theatrical: what if there really were a higher power that rules, judges and punishes us all? That question hangs over the whole record like a storm cloud, and it gives the fury a purpose beyond mere velocity. Tracks like "High Ground" and "Mass Human Extinction" show a group that has levelled up across the board, tighter and more confident than before, while still sounding like they're having a genuinely great time being this nasty.

It is the sound of a band growing up without slowing down, and it is a blast from front to back.
